BASIC PC SKILLS REQUIRED

The Mobile Digital Video Recorders (MDVR) we provide operates on a P.C. program viewer program called a Graphical User Interface or GUI. These programs have been designed to be intuitive and require no formal training to operate the program, as long as the user possesses basic P.C. skills. This is where some problems with P.C. skills begin for some who are not well versed in the use of their district or company computers. The use of these GUI, aka Video Player programs, is predicated on the assumption/requirement that the customer of this high-tech video file management tool has authorized personnel who will be operating this program who are competent with the basic operation of their own company P.C.s.  Companies lacking a trained P.C. competent authorized user for this system will need to have their designated persons trained on the basic use of their company P.C. prior to using this product, as a lack of basic P.C. operation skills and use could compromise the integrity of the product application, the video files and possibly their admissibility as evidence in a court litigation procedure. 

The manufacturer and their representatives are not responsible, licensed, or certified to train users of this program on the basic functions of a customer or company's own company P.C.s.
ABV does not have the resources required to teach customers how to operate their P.C.s to the degree that they may then operate programs running on them. It is the customer's responsibility to learn how to operate their own P.C. before implementing a product that requires operation on their P.C.
Simply stated; if the intended customer system operator is incapable of downloading files from the internet, opening programs, running or executing application files, cannot download Media Player Program codec plug-ins, cannot save a file, cannot transfer a file, or browsing for a file, nor make a screen capture of the program viewer GUI, cannot send a saved file by email, cannot save a file to a portable digital storage device, then you are not ready for a digital vehicle surveillance system. Basic P.C. skills are a requirement for all who intend to operate these products.

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS

NETWORK SERVICES
*All Network features require Optional: CMS Wi-Fi Wireless Network Server, CP, software, and or setup; pricing is dependent upon customer needs and available upon request when customer needs are provided. 

NETWORK SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR:
Those customers incorporating the Central Management Software or Client Software in order to enable the Wi-Fi or Cellular functionality into their mobile video application must have in-house a Network Administrator with at least the training and certification of Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) to install, setup, configure or operate the higher functions of the program capabilities as they require access to your Wi-Fi or Cellular network and your mail server, creating databases and many other network administrator functions. It is solely the responsibility of the purchaser to provide competent certified network administration for the installation, setup, and maintenance of the network.

ABV provides no CMS or Client software server installation support, no CMS or Client software server setup support, no training, and no technical expertise in the use or operations of any customer network, CMS, or Client software program provided for use on said network.

In simple terms, if you do not have a competent in-house Network Administrator with at least the training and certification of Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) who will be installing the CMS or Client software, setting up the CMS or Client software, operating the CMS or Client program who are competent with the operation of their own company Wi-Fi as well as Cellular network and mail server networks, then you should not be purchasing a Wi-Fi or Cellular Network driven system.

CHANGE
All DVR specifications, features, hardware & GUI image representations are subject to frequent change by the manufacturer without notice as improvements are integrated; some representations are simulated or low-resolution samples. 

WARRANTY

ABV Cameras have a 10-Year Warranty at no additional charge (Free to the customer); ABV Camera cables warranty is a limited lifetime for the original purchaser as long as they are still available from the manufacturer, all other system components, including but not limited to DVRs, buttons, S.D. memory cards, LCD displays come standard with a warranty period of 1-year unless otherwise stated, with 3-Year, 5-Year & Lifetime Extended Warranties available for some product lines.

Warranty coverage is limited to repair or replacement of the originally purchased product only, no extension expressed or implied. Warranty coverage is for customers who have met the payment in the full threshold. Warranty claims require a completed purchase/payment transaction in order to validate warranty coverage, meaning demo units, evaluation units, or products provided with incomplete purchase /payment transactions are not eligible for warranty coverage, as the recipient is not a customer until the payment in full threshold is met. Warranty claims on a previously sold product that is not serviceable can be replaced with the new or reconditioned product at ABV discretion. "Warranty Statement" declaring full terms of Warranty coverage and exclusions is available upon written or email request.

American Bus Video Inc. offers no guarantee of data integrity. American Bus Video Inc. offers no guarantee against any customer loss of video data, including but not limited to; loss of memory storage device, loss of data files on a memory device, file corruption, incomplete data stream, incorrect installation, incorrect use of the product, abuse, neglect or intentional or inadvertent damage to device or software related issue.

COMPATIBILITY OF MEMORY CARDS
DVRs record streaming video from up to 4 channel data streams with video, audio, and metadata in high resolution to a removable S.D. card; at the same time the data is being recorded, a small portion of the data files on the card is being erased in what is referred to as "Recycle" mode. This tremendous data video streaming can easily overwhelm the S.D. card's gate transfer speed or processor capability.
ABV recommends the use of ABV supplied or "Brand & Class" recommended S.D. cards to ensure the card can meet the high data flow as well as a capability we refer to as "Tri-plexing," where the S.D. card is recorded, erased, and displayed or streamed at the same time.
Use of memory cards NOT supplied by American Bus Video Inc., nor recommended by "Brand & Class," has been linked to several recording problems due to the selected card's inability in "Tri-plexing." 

We encourage you to ask for "Brand & Class" recommended S.D. cards from ABV if you do not source via ABV to help ensure proper card specifications for function. Use of cards not sourced from ABV, nor meeting ABV freely provided "Brand & Class" recommendation will not be supported in warranty claims if the DVR is found to be functional with the proper cards when tested.

CELLULAR CMS SERVER HOSTING IS REQUIRED FOR ALL CELLULAR FUNCTIONS
Those customers investing in 3G/4G Cellular based systems such as the SD4mXC will require Professional CMS Cellular Server Hosting in order to access Live View, Live GPS Tracking, Event Trigger Alerts, Alarm Trigger Alerts, Geo-Fence functions, GPS History functions, and all other cellular-based features or derivatives of them. 

Professional 3G/4G Cellular CMS Server Hosting is required for ABV sales of SD4mXC. Professional 3G/4G Cellular CMS Server Hosting ensures the proper function of the SD4mXC product as it was intended. 3G/4G Cellular Professional CMS Server Hosting fee is prepaid per annual period, per DVR registered, and is non-refundable.
SD4mXC does not support Wi-Fi or Automated Data Download via Wi-Fi.

PROFESSIONAL CELLULAR CMS HOSTING IS REQUIRED FOR ABV SALES:
Professional Cellular CMS Server Hosting is required for ABV sales to ensure proper functionality of the product and the least complex mechanism for customers to access Live View Video from their vehicles.
I.T. technical training and support for Cellular CMS Network Servers create considerable costs to a business that must be passed on to their customers in higher product pricing.

We have found most potential customers interested in a low-cost Live View solution are not interested in wasting money purchasing additional server-related hardware nor in financing the extremely expensive technical support needs of those who wish for "bells & whistles" in their Live View solutions. They want the lowest cost and simplest Live View video access possible, and that can only be provided by a Professional Cellular CMS Server Hosted solution. 

UNADVERTISED PROFESSIONAL CELLULAR CMS SERVER HOSTING FEATURES NOTE:
ABV does not advertise features the products cannot provide at the time of the advertisement. This is generally referred to as "Vaporware" in the industry, and it would be a violation of the principle to deceive a customer into a sale based upon a pretense.
The CMS manual lists several additional features of the product that are not fully developed at this time. While the manufacturer may work to develop: Voice Intercom, Remote Video Storage, Remote Video Download, Local Video Storage, Local Video Playback, and remote Device Upgrade, it must be emphasized that they are not advertised features; their development is not completed, nor is there any assurance being offered they will be completed, so it would be unwise to base an investment decision on any of those possible system features.

SPECIAL NOTICE REGARDING WI-FI CMS SERVER NETWORK ONLY
Those customers incorporating the Wi-Fi Central Management Software into their mobile video application must have in-house a Network Administrator with at least the training and certification of Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) to install, setup, configure or operate the higher functions of the program capabilities as they require access to your Wi-Fi network and your mail server. SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR ACCESS REQUIRED
Some P.C. Operating Systems limit access permissions and control as well as require applications to be downloaded, opened, and "run as an Administrator," making Limited User access problematic for the proper operation of the programs. It is the customer's responsibility to secure I.T. authority to run the video player or CMS programs as Administrator if the customer's P.C. is operating in a limited-access user environment.    

OPERATIONAL VERIFICATION
It is the responsibility of the user of the product to provide verification of product functionality when installed, and each time it is operated to prevent missing the documentation of important events due to operational problems that could have been detected before they prevented important video evidence from being documented.
There is no excuse for checking the memory storage for documentation of a criminal event to find the DVR has not been functional in 3 years due to a 10-cent blown fuse, yet this has happened with alarming predictability.
Operational verification is a simple daily visual verification of the DVR LED Status LEDs displaying the unit is powered up and recording, or monthly verification via LCD display monitor that the cameras are all properly aimed, that the camera lenses are clean, that the audio is functional for each camera, and that the DVR is recording when the ignition is on.
"Agency implies Stewardship," meaning if you own a product, it is your responsibility to maintain the product to ensure you are able to obtain value from the use or operation of that product.
